Life is so complex and complicated that people create rules and laws to make sense of it, to make it uniform, and thus less scary. There are people who are not scared by this complexity, but who take pleasure in it. They want to explore and to make their own rules. They want to try and fail and try again. It does not mean that they are shallow or unreliable, but that they want to learn by experiencing and by testing life and not by merely accepting the discoveries of others as the ultimate truth.
